Paul Michael Hunter is a Scottish-born artist known for his delicate and evocative portrayals of botanicals. Born in Scotland - renowned for its natural beauty - Paul developed an early appreciation for the natural world, drawing inspiration from the wild landscapes and diverse flora that surrounded him and the peace it brought him. His mark-making techniques are characterised by their delicacy and subtle layering, this allows a sense of lightness and fluidity to his botanical subjects, creating works that feel both intimate and expansive.
After formal studies in art, Hunter spent years honing his craft, living in multiple countries in Europe and North America and experimenting with various styles and media before taking time away from fine art which allowed him to find his true voice.
